Age UK Buckinghamshire have been caring for vulnerable and isolated older people throughout the county for over 70 years. We are an independent local charity, responsible for all our own funding and are a brand partner of the national charity Age UK.
We put the interests of older people in Buckinghamshire at the centre of everything we do, by helping them achieve and maintain their independence and wellbeing. We offer a range of services all designed to support local older people. Our chargeable services supply trusted trades people such as gardeners, hairdressers and cleaners to older people in Bucks. The funds raised from these services help us run our free services.
Our free services are; Befriending, Welfare Benefits and Information & Advice. Befriending tackles the issue of social isolation by providing lonely older people with a friendly visit for an hour every week from a trained volunteer. These visits can make a huge difference to someone who is frail and housebound without anybody else to turn to. Welfare benefits helps older people to maximise their income by helping them claim the benefits to which they are entitled. Information and Advice, offers free, up to date, independent information and advice on all issues of concern to older people, their families and carers.
