Go Purple
The Hospice of St Francis are getting ready for the second annual Go Purple day on Friday 7th October 2016.
Everyone can get involved – school children, work colleagues, local businesses, mums and dads!
All we ask is that you donate what you can to help people who need our hospice services in our local community. What will you do to show YOU care?
There are so many shades of purple and so many ways that you can GO PURPLE to show your support for your local Hospice. How you decide to GO PURPLE is completely up to you. Invite friends over for coffee and BAKE purple iced-cakes or decorate your kitchen table with purple flowers or napkins!
You could organise your own crazy purple-themed fundraising activity – anything from sitting in a bath of purple gloop or turning your hair mauve, to hosting a purple quiz or party... the ideas are limitless, so be creative.
Visit www.stfrancis.org.uk/gopurple to register for your FREE Go Purple fundraising pack. You can also order posters, balloons, banners and collection boxes – everything you need to make your day a great success.
You could simply take a purple selfie, share on social media or text donate by sending PURP01 plus £5 (or your preferred amount) to 70070.

Outdoor Events Tring's Own Apple Fayre
Every October residents celebrate the harvest season with Tring’s Own Apple Fayre. A programme of apple-based events which has grown from an Apple Day at the country’s only surviving First World War smallholding (comprising of an historic bungalow, orchard and nationally scarce wildlife) to a full month of events.

It aims to support our local environment, our town, its businesses and its people and celebrates living in Tring together.

The many events include an apple procession with Morris dancers; a parade of school scareworms (like scarecrows) and horse-drawn apple cart; Apple Day featuring a host of farmers market stalls, crafts, displays, games and much more; harvest festival at the parish church; Taste of Tring café; apple juicing; the ‘Appleation Trail’ where within the themed shop window displays there are clues to be found; apple yoga and meditation; a bake-off competition.

Information can be found on
www.tringtogether.org.uk or www.tringapplefayre.com
