Quakers became a significant national religious group in the 1650s, although their numbers declined dramatically after the 1740s. Many family historians have ancestors who were Quakers for two or three generations. Fortunately the group's records are very good. Michael Gandy's talk will combine a short history with an account of the records, and where to find them.

A production is performed by students of Tring Park School for the Performing Arts each year to support each Mayor of Dacorum’s chosen charity. 2015’s performance will be Guys & Dolls in support of the Chilterns MS Centre.
The Chilterns MS Centre provides services and advice to people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), their families and carers. MS is endlessly variable, totally unpredictable and can lead to a loss of independence, severe disability and isolation. We help people living with MS by providing a number of supportive therapies and treatments such as physiotherapy, oxygen treatment, hydrotherapy and occupational therapy. The Chilterns MS Centre treats up to 300 patients each week and no one is ever turned away, however minor or severe their disability. We care for people who live within a roughly 25 mile radius of Wendover where we are based.
We rely on donations and fundraising for most of our income and only receive a small amount of funding from the NHS and the on-going yearly costs of running the Centre are £750,000. All help is gratefully received.

We are now starting to organise monthly get togethers, or Coffee Posses for the local LGBTIQ Community and Victims of Crime.
All members of the community are welcome, regardless and Sex, Gender, Sexuality and Gender Identity et al.
Initially we are hoping to hold these on the First Saturday of every month, the first being on Saturday 2 August 2014 at 12:00 noon. We will of course have a vote as to how often the meetings should be held and the best format for them.
This event is to provide an open forum for those people who are not necessarily happy going directly to Thames Valley Police with their concerns or who are in need of support in their daily lives.
As this is the first Coffee Posse, it is envisaged that this would be used as a general gathering to see how we would like the meetings to be used and in order to gauge the number of people who would be interested in attending, also to construct a mail list for our monthly newsletter.
Moving forward, it is envisaged that we will have monthly guest speakers from:
1. OutEverywhere - on Safe LGBTIQ Social Networking
2. 17-24-30 - by Mark Healy - on How to Report Hate Crime and the Different Types of Hate Crime
3. International Gender and Sexuality Alliance - on Global LGBTIQ Campaigns
Anyone else who would like to present on a subject, please let us know on firstname.lastname@example.org
We would obviously like to keep it as relaxed as possible, but in the future, we may have a look at having donation buckets to raise funds for the supporting groups.
Looking forward to seeing you on 2 August 2014.
