Tring Bowls Club welcomes allcomers to our Open Days, whatever your age or gender, whether you've never bowled before, perhaps have played a few ends in a public park, or maybe used to bowl and are thinking about taking it up again. This year we're organising two Open Days - Sunday, 8 May and Saturday, 14 May from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm on both days - when we're offering you the chance to give bowls a try in a fun, friendly and informal environment. Qualified coaches and experienced members will help you choose suitable bowls and guide you in the basics of the sport on the green. There's no need to book and nothing to pay; all we ask is that you come along to our green with a pair of flat-soled, heel-less shoes or trainers. So why not give bowls a try and combine gentle exercising and socialising at the same time! Red Cross Week
The 8th May marks Henry Dunant's birthday (the founder of the Red Cross Movement) and during this week thousands of people will be involved in fundraising events throughout the UK. Red Cross Week offers a chance for you to get involved in fundraising to help enable the work British Red Cross does in your area to continue.

For example, our PATH service helps hundreds of people every year following a visit to the A&E Department at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital. It is a free service that provides transport home from A&E, as well as home support to address immediate practical needs.

Head over to our website to find out what events are taking place near you! Alternatively, you can host your own fundraiser. It can be anything from bake sales and sponsored walks to donating to one of our stores or a sponsored silence. Whatever you want to do to raise money for a great cause! Want to get involved? Head over to the British Red Cross website and order your free fundraising pack now - http://www.redcross.org.uk/RedCrossWeek
