Costa Coffee, Wendover
HP22 6 Wendover, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom
We are now starting to organise monthly get togethers, or Coffee Posses for the local LGBTIQ Community and Victims of Crime.
All members of the community are welcome, regardless and Sex, Gender, Sexuality and Gender Identity et al.
Initially we are hoping to hold these on the First Saturday of every month, the first being on Saturday 2 August 2014 at 12:00 noon. We will of course have a vote as to how often the meetings should be held and the best format for them.
This event is to provide an open forum for those people who are not necessarily happy going directly to Thames Valley Police with their concerns or who are in need of support in their daily lives.
As this is the first Coffee Posse, it is envisaged that this would be used as a general gathering to see how we would like the meetings to be used and in order to gauge the number of people who would be interested in attending, also to construct a mail list for our monthly newsletter.
Moving forward, it is envisaged that we will have monthly guest speakers from:
1. OutEverywhere - on Safe LGBTIQ Social Networking
2. 17-24-30 - by Mark Healy - on How to Report Hate Crime and the Different Types of Hate Crime
3. International Gender and Sexuality Alliance - on Global LGBTIQ Campaigns
Anyone else who would like to present on a subject, please let us know on email@example.com
We would obviously like to keep it as relaxed as possible, but in the future, we may have a look at having donation buckets to raise funds for the supporting groups.
Looking forward to seeing you on 2 August 2014.

Aylesbury parkrun needs you!
It is entirely organised by volunteers - email firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer. If every runner volunteered a couple times a year we'd be covered.

If you were researching your family history when the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies was first opened, and before that used the Local Studies section of Aylesbury Reference Library, you will remember the Senior Librarian, Bill Torrens. If you needed help, Bill was the person to go to, and he also did a lot of work to make the resources more easily available. Sadly, Bill died far too young, and in recognition of the help he had given to the Society, it was decided to hold an annual talk in his memory. The subject of this year's Bill Torrens Memorial Lecture is The Buckinghamshire County Museum. Will Phillips works at the museum and will talk about the artefacts and archives that it holds, both in the main Aylesbury building and at the off-site store at Halton. He will show how the museum’s collections reflect the social history of the County.
Free; non-members of Buckinghamshire Family History Society are very welcome; a small donation will be appreciated.
