“Famous People & Places in the Chilterns”
Chris Brown
Meeting on Friday 31st October, 2014

This talk focuses on just a few of the very many famous and notorious people have lived in the Chilterns over the centuries. There are authors, poets and artists who have drawn inspiration from their surroundings, as well as potentates, politicians and philanthropists who found refuge in these hills and dells.

The Chilterns Conservation Board have published a book 'Famous People of the Chilterns' which describes the lives of many others who are connected to the Chilterns, and will be available to review or buy at the meeting.

The Speaker is Chris Brown who is a volunteer with the Chilterns Conservation Board. He is an amateur naturalist and local historian who writes and talks about both and is Chairman of Cholesbury-cum-St Leonards Local History Group.

The meeting starts at 8pm in the village hall and is open to all. Entrance £2 for members and £3 visitors, including refreshments. For further information about the Society visit the Society’s web page www.WTHSoc.org.uk or email Secretary@WTHSoc.org.uk
