Fire crews have been dealing with an underground cable fire in Aylesbury.

They went out to Buckingham Street in the town centre, after 15 '999' calls this morning.

Power is out across much of Kingsbury and surrounding areas, according to several tweets and confirmation from UK Power Networks.

A cover plate, the pavement and a sign were all damaged by the fire.

Two appliances and crews from Aylesbury and an officer attended. Firefighters used a dry powder extinguisher and a PPV (positive pressure ventilation) fan and set up a cordon.
