Building Work Is Finally Going To Start On Chesham Healthzone
6:43am 29th July 2010
Months after it was meant to, the building work for Chesham's new 6 million pound healthzone centre is due to start at the end of next month.
The site on Berkhamsted Road will have a number of GP rooms, treatment rooms and clinical rooms.
NHS Buckinghamshire say it will open in early 2012.
A statement from the local NHS said "NHS The new medical centre will be a modern purpose built facility, containing a range of GP consultation rooms, nurse treatment rooms and multi-purpose clinical rooms. It will also have a generous number of car parking spaces for patients. When complete, the facility will accommodate two of the GP practices currently based in Chesham (The New Surgery in Lindo Close and The Surgery in Gladstone Road).
All parties involved, NHS Buckinghamshire, the GP practices and the appointed developer (Brackley Investment Ltd) have signed and exchanged relevant contracts. Work will begin on site at the end of August 2010 and it is anticipated that the Chesham Healthzone will be completed in early 2012."
