Berkhamsted - Teenage Girl Dies On Tracks

Transport Police were called to Berkhamsted Rail station this morning following a report of a body on the line.
BTP and Hertfordshire Constabulary officers attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 6.15am and is currently being treated as unexplained.
East of England Ambulance Service also attended but the person, believed to be a teenage girl from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are currently working to establish the full circumstances leading up to her death, including how she came to be by the track, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
The East of England Ambulance Service were alerted to Berkhamsted train station at 6.20am and crews from Hemel, Tring and Watford attended the scene. Sadly after everyone’s best efforts, the girl was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Ambulance spokesman Gary Sanderson told Mix 96: "First and foremost our thoughts are with the girl’s family at this tragic time.”
The line was handed back to Network Rail at 9.48am.
