Leighton: Robbery Leaves Victim On Ground
1:55pm 4th December 2012
A 23 year-old man in Leighton Buzzard has been pushed to the ground and kicked after three people demanded he hand over this wallet and mobile.
Bedfordshire Police have told Mix96 the incident happened at around 3am as the 23 year-old male victim was walking along Heath Road. He was approached by three offenders who asked if he had a lighter. The victim said no and carried on walking but the offenders then demanded he hand over his wallet and mobile phone before pushing him to the ground and kicking him. The offenders took the victim's Nokia phone and wallet before fleeing toward the town centre.
The first offender is a white male, aged 25 to 30 years old, around five feet ten or eleven inches tall, of stocky build. He had short blond hair with a side parting and was wearing a black hooded top, jeans and trainers. The second offender was also a white male, of similar age, around five feet nine inches tall and of average build. He had short brown spiked hair, facial stubble and was wearing a white top, blue jacket and jeans. The third offender was also a white male, in his mid to late 20s and around five feet ten inches tall. He had broad shoulders, shaved brown hair and was wearing a cream cardigan, a t-shirt and jeans.
Detective Constable Lucy Arnold, who is investigating the incident, is keen to hear from anyone who was in the Heath Road area at the time of the robbery and may have seen anything suspicious.
DC Arnold told Mix96:
"This was a nasty assault and theft which has left the victim extremely shaken up and I would urge anyone who may have seen the incident to come forward.
I would really like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery or anyone else who may have information - however small or insignificant they think it is - that could help us. Please don't dismiss your information as unimportant - even tiny details which don't seem relevant now might become useful later on in the investigation."
