Chesham: Man Arrested Over Facial Injury Attack
2:02pm 4th March 2013
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Chesham in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police were called at 12.30am to reports of a fight taking place between two men in an alleyway off Shelley Road, Chesham. Officers attended and found a 25 year-old man inside a property with a serious injury to his lip.
Det Sgt Simon Johnson, investigating the incident, said told Mix96:
“We believe there were some people in Shelley Road who may have witnessed or heard the incident who have not yet come forward to speak to police. I would urge them to contact police as they may have information vital to the investigation.
If the witnesses would rather not speak directly to police, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers charity confidentially on 0800 555 111.
I would like to reassure local residents that incidents of this nature are rare in Chesham, and that the offender and the victim were known to each other. This was an isolated incident and not a stranger assault.”
Anyone with any information should contact Det Sgt Johnson via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
On Sunday, police reported they had arrested a 22 year-old man on suspicion of causing GBH in connection with the incident.
