A recruitment event is taking place at Aylesbury Fire station to persuade more people to join up.

Aylesbury Firefighter Denis O'Driscall says in recent years, across the UK, more women have joined up but admits only 6 out of the last 20 recruits in Buckinghamshire were female.

The event on Monday which is open to everybody is at Brigade Headquarters, Stocklake, Aylesbury, HP20 1DS and takes place from 12 noon to 3pm, and then also from 5pm to 7pm.
