Exhibitions Spirit of Legends
In a series of remarkable photographs, many of which are life size, the exhibition sets the athletes against backdrops of the magical stories from ancient Greece that have captivated us for centuries and still reflect the wonders of human endeavor in today’s world.
Paralympians are some of today’s heroes; they overcome the unthinkable to win a place in history, yet few of us know who they are and what their incredible story is. This new exhibition brings together these heroes and their stories and connects them to the ancient roots to bring alive their extraordinary achievements to enlighten and inspire you.

Exhibitions HS2 // INTERVENTION: Unique Laser Photography documenting the HS2 route by award-winning photographer Mark King
Using state-of-the-art lasers, Mark’s project explores where the proposed ‘High Speed 2’ (HS2) train route will travel through the countryside. Serving as an important historical document they show how the landscape could be irrevocably transformed.

Following on from two previous exhibitions on the same theme, Mark has recorded new locations that lie beyond The Chilterns AONB.

Illustrated by using two green lasers to replicate the concept of train tracks, the lasers are mounted on a custom built platform separated by the width of the planned track gauge. They are then projected along the plotted path using various calculations.

This free exhibition will run from 29th April to 8th July.

May Day Morris Dancing
Traditional May Day Morris Dancing.

Since the introduction of the May Day bank holiday the Whitchurch Morris Men have been celebrating this pagan festival. We should celebrate it as the sun rises on the 1st of May.
Our lazy way to celebrate is to dance in a well known site at 6.30am; an hour or so after the sun has risen.

So we decided to do it on the top of Coombe Hill, (NT.) just outside Wendover, which is the highest point in the Chiltern Hills.

So spring out of bed, spring into spring, and walk to the top of Coombe Hill, bring the dog he will love it. Hopefully you will see the sun! The misty air! Fog! Even rain or heavy rain! We have seen it ALL and we will be there. Oh, the only time we missed it was in the foot and mouth year.
Off to a pub for breakfast and dancing outside (The Hampden Arm at Great Hampden).
Then see the tour below
