Stan Tracey: The Godfather of British Jazz

Clark Tracey Quartet

Nadim Teimoori - Tenor/Soprano
Bruce Boardman - Piano
Andrew Cleyndert - Bass
Clark Tracey - Drums
One of the UK's finest drummers,

Best Drummer in the British Jazz Awards 2016 & 2017

Clark Tracey has put together a new group to pay tribute to his father's music, spanning from the early 1950s. The line-up Clark has chosen is Nadim Teimoori,Bruce Boardman,Andrew Cleyndert from Stan's Band and himself , focusing on his material from the 1950s onwards.. Some of today's best musicians from a new generation to represent Stan Tracey's music.

Stan Tracey belonged to the first gene ration of British performers who were trying, in those restless, optimistic years after the war, to learn from the inspirations of Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonious Monk despite being 3000 miles away from the source, and then develop a style of their own in a culture that had never been hospitable to jazz. Tracey, one of the undisputed giants of the music in Britain, managed exactly that.

In November 1985, Tracey's new band Hexad played opposite Chet Baker from a season that represented one of Ronnie Scott Club's most perfect balances of utterly different persuasions in jazz. Bothy Baker and Tracey defined the spirit of jazz in their different ways, and the audiences responded by being utterly absorbed in a manner rare for a night-club.

Outdoor Events Bradenham Orienteering Races
A race with no set route! Run, jog or just walk, this is an exciting intro to orienteering, with courses for runners, children & families of all ages & abilities.

New to orienteering? We give you a map and you have to find your own way around the course, choosing your route between a series of checkpoints. Run, jog or just go at your own pace, there'll be courses for all ages and abilities - including runners, families and children. Electronic chip timing is used (we'll lend you a timing chip to register at each checkpoint).

Think of it as a competitive treasure hunt - the checkpoints could be anywhere around the picturesque National Trust estate and woodland - along paths, amongst the woods or along streams and vegetation.

Just turn up and enter on the day, any time between 10:00 and 11:30. It’s £6 to enter, including the hire of an electronic timing chip (that's a rate for solo adults and groups. Solo juniors are just £2). Your entry fee includes a special waterproof map with your course marked on, to keep as a souvenir, hire of a timing chip and a print out of your result and splits at the finish. Courses close at 1pm and normally take 30 to 75 mins to complete (they will range from around 1.5km to 5km long, although that is the straight line distance between the controls and you will run/walk a bit further!).

Lots of help and guidance will be available for newcomers. For more info please visit our website at, see our Facebook page at or email us:
