History & Nature Ride 2FOR1 at Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway
Admission: Adult £11.00, Senior £10.00, Child £2.00
Description: On 29 June 1957 (exactly 60 years ago) the last public passenger train left Chinnor station, following which the line was closed to passengers by British Railways. Our vintage Bubblecar was from that early genre of diesel railcars (albeit constructed slightly later on), and following our aborted attempt to bring in the Steam Railmotor from the GWS at Didcot, we still think it still appropriate to run a limited service exactly 60 years on from the day of closure. The trains will depart Chinnor at 10.30, 12.00, 13.45, and 15.15. A unique opportunity to see, listen and learn something about the history of the line and the local area it traverses and to also see some of our Chilterns area flora and fauna. There is a large free car park, cafe and souvenir shop available at Chinnor station. For more information about the railway and other activities please see our website. We very much look forward to seeing you on our History & Nature Ride 2FOR1 and thank you for your support.
