Formed in 2011, the Castalian Quartet is rapidly emerging as an exciting voice on the international chamber music scene. Over the last three years they have won top prizes at major international competitions including 3rd Prize at the 2016 Banff International Quartet Competition, 1st Prize and three special awards at the 2015 Lyon International Competition, and in 2013 1st Prize and the Audience Prize at the Kammermusik Hannover Next Generation Competition.

Mothering Sunday Steam Specials MUM FREE at Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway
Admission: Adult £12.00, Senior £10.00, Child £6.00, Mum goes FREE when accompanied by any fare-paying Adult, Senior, or Child ticket holder.
Every Mum travels FREE with any accompanied ticket holder on Mothering Sunday, and she also receives a small posy of flowers with the compliments of the railway's volunteers. All the while your steam locomotive is lazily billowing steam past your window and the vintage diesel is growling its way along the line on the gentle 50-minute round trip. With lovely views gradually opening out to Whiteleaf Cross in the distance, plus the Red Kites often whirling overhead, it is surely going to be the perfect Mothering Sunday treat. There are 5 timetabled trains that you can choose from; these are 11.00, 12.15, 13.30, 15.00 & 16.30. You could also make it extra special and book delicious cream teas which are served in the Afternoon Tea Car on the 13.30, 15.00 and 16.30 departures from Chinnor. Advance booking for cream tea reservations can be ordered separately and will be available online. There is a large free car park, cafe and souvenir shop available at Chinnor station.
