Exhibitions May Half Term Family Craft: Tremendous Tapestry
If you would like to have a go at stitching your very own mini-tapestry to take home, then this is the activity for you. Using your own stitching skills, or letting us show you a few new techniques, you can design and decorate your very own version of the Game of Thrones tapestry on display here at the Museum. Or even create something totally different! You can embellish your stitching with other craft materials too. Suitable for a wide age group

Costs just £3 per child, accompanying adults are free. No need to book, simply turn up between 10am and noon or 1pm and 3pm to take part.

All children must be accompanied throughout the activity by an adult.

Homeless Outreach Volunteer
We are a housing support charity seeking volunteers to accomany our outreach worker on early morning visist to identify and assist people sleeping rough. Visits usually happen in and around the town centre and there will be quite a lot of walking involved.

Each session starts at around 6am and lasts for between 1 and 3 hours. We are flexible around the frequency of volunteering as we hope to build a bank of people to call on.

Messy May Madness Playscheme
Get messy at the Jonathan Page Play Centre in May.

Children get the chance to use all of their senses in our Messy May Madness. Activities and games have been chosen for the children to explore textures, colour and creativity. Enjoy string painting, painting with shaving foam, jelly bath, gloop, marbling, giant picture sticking and so much more. There are also opportunities for the children to enjoy the indoor and outdoor area, including pool table, football table and lots of games and toys.

The Playscheme is for all children from the age of 4 up to their 13th birthday.

Exhibitions May Half Term Family Activity: Museum Trails

Come and explore the nooks and crannies of our beautiful Museum buildings, or spend some time in your favourite period of history with our bespoke trails based on areas such as our Tudor rooms, Roman displays or Bucks wildlife.

Each trail is designed for school-aged children (accompanied by an adult) and typically take around 25 minutes each (timings will vary by child). We will provide all the equipment neccessary.

No booking is neccessary, purchase from the front desk at £1 each, or 3 for £2! Children must be accompanied by an adult to participate. Last trail will be 30 minutes before closing time.
