Winslow Players 50th Golden Anniversary (monthly meeting)
Winslow Players is a small but perfectly formed amateur dramatic company based in the market town of Winslow in north Buckinghamshire.

From September 2017 we will be celebrating our 50th Golden Anniversary

A group of people met in November 1967 to create the Winslow Players and in February 1968 performed our first production of 'Aladdin'. Since then we have gone on to provide entertainment for the people of Winslow and surrounding areas for the past 50 years, putting on some fantastic productions from all genres, using the inexhaustible talent of local people, often featuring various families and their members - young and old - from Winslow itself and surrounding villages.

We think this is worth celebrating and have three fantastic productions planned: 'Terry Pratchett’s Wyrd Sisters' - 5, 6, 7, October, our family-favourite in-house panto 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz' - 1, 2, 3, February 2018 and finally 'Trolls by Peter Skellern' - 10, 11, 12 May 2018 . We shall have our archives on display in the Public Hall, Winslow at each performance.

Winslow is growing exponentially and local community groups like ours are vital in bringing people with similar interests together and promoting creativity, teamwork and enjoyment, challenging talents, forming friendships, developing links and much more.

We struggle with competition from the 'big boys' Milton Keynes Theatre, Waterside Aylesbury and the like but we believe in giving local people affordable, heartfelt end enjoyable experiences and that an interest in the theatre often stems from a child's first trip to the local pantomime.

We may be a voluntary group but we are professional in every way and having performed a wide variety of shows from the popular 'Calendar Girls', through musicals such as 'Salad Days' to the more obscure 'Bonaventure'.

For more information on joining us or attending our shows visit our website or email info@winslowplayers.co.uk

On: 8 pm Wed 13th Sep 2017
Repeating: The second Wednesday of each month
