Sometimes saving energy and money can be easier than you think.

Here's our Top 12 Tips to do just that, from growing your own delicious veg to shortening your shower time;

Turn off electrical appliances when you’re not using them, it will simply save energy and money

Use cloth napkins, instead of paper ones

Taking a shorter shower is good for the environment, your energy bills and even your skin (and you can save even more by showering with someone else, and have more fun too!)

Take anything you don’t need out the boot of your car, it will save you fuel and cut down on emissions

Installing dimmer switches in your house can save energy and around £20 a year

Grow your own food -  saves money on the weekly shop, means less food waste and, of course, you know exactly where it's come from.

Turn off taps when you aren’t using them, especially when brushing your teeth, it can waste as much as 12-18 litres per time

Stay warm, cut costs. Your Dad always said put another jumper or coat on, and he was right! Turning your thermostat down by 1°C can save you as much as £60 per year.

Ride your bike or walk, instead of driving (or you could carpool)

Hang up your laundry. Air-dry your laundry rather than tumble drying it, particularly if there's warm or windy weather. What's more nothing smells better than air-dried clothes.
