Lead the preparation of funding applications on behalf of Action4Youth in order to meet the targets for new income available from national, regional and local sources, to help make a difference to the lives of young people and to ensure the sustainability and growth of the charity. To develop compelling, high quality applications that clearly set out the aims and objectives of Action4Youth and the beneficial outcomes for young people that our programmes deliver.

Position in the Organisation

Reports To: Development Director             

Develop and maintain effective personal relationships with a wide range of funders.

Raise income to agreed targets from existing and prospective Trusts, Foundations, Lottery and statutory and European funding streams by undertaking research into external funders which give to the youth sector.

Understand the needs of both the charity and the voluntary youth sector and communicate them in a clear, consistent way and relevant way to appropriate funders.

Submit high-quality written funding applications on a timely basis for individual and collaborative projects.

Ensure that requests for support and formal applications are made to a high standard including detailed budgets.

Communicate with project managers to ensure delivery of the project as required by the funders.

Liaise with project managers and staff to identify and retrieve information necessary for the preparation of monitoring and evaluation reports including financial information.

Prepare and deliver, within the given time-scales, all monitoring and evaluation reports to existing project funders.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective computer-based systems for recording funder details and monitoring information.

Record all data and analyse results in correct manner.


General Responsibilities

Support events and meetings when required.

  • Support the continued development of quality standards as specified by Action4Youth.

To have regard for the vision of Action4Youth and to display a commitment to equal opportunities and to the protection and safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

  • Report any behaviour, conversations or comments which are inappropriate within a setting for children and young people.

To carry out any other Action4Youth duties as required by your Line Manager, CEO or Directors.      

Administering own workload which includes meeting targets and deadlines in line with the Action4Youth Performance Management System.

Attending relevant CPD training events in line with Performance Management appraisal.

Undertaking responsibility, as part of the team, for all Health and Safety work related matters.

Working within the guidelines of Action4Youth policies and procedures.

Between £29,305 and £31,992 Per Annum
