A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Community Fundraising Manager to join a leading charity based in Aylesbury. Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, you will take responsibility for driving the delivery of a portfolio of Community Events and spreading the word about hospice care, line managing a community fundraiser and delivering exceptional account management. A crucial role within the Charity's fundraising team, you will focus on running and supporting community events and developing relationships within the local area. We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated and creative fundraiser who has proven experience of achieving income targets from community activity including individuals, community groups, schools/colleges as well as local businesses. You will have the ability to build relationships and be confident in motivating and inspiring individuals and organisations to fundraise for the hospice. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in community fundraising and have excellent organisation, people and communication skills and be capable of managing and prioritising workload and that of the community fundraiser. The role requires some flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required. You must have access to a car and have a full clean driving licence.







JOB TITLE:           Community Fundraising Manager

REPORTEE: Community Fundraiser, Volunteer CFG, Volunteer Event Support, Ambassadors, Volunteer Tub Collectors



  • To work as part of the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity fundraising team, contributing to an effective and efficient department.
  • To generate income by proactively providing efficient, professional and proactive support to our local community e.g support local community in running their own ‘supporter events’ (coffee mornings, dances and balls, music festivals); to help develop and maintain relationships with individuals and groups in the community, for example local schools, colleges, service groups, clubs, pubs, religious establishments ie the community at large; to help diversify our supporter base and ensure optimum income is achieved.





§  To manage, develop and appraise the community fundraiser.

§  Support the other F/R team members wherever appropriate

§  Support the management of volunteers and ambassadors and build working relationships

§  To deliver an effective community fundraising programme that nurtures current supporters, optimises opportunities for increased support, attracts new supporters and encourages long term engagement so that agreed targets and KPI’s are achieved.

§  To deliver inspiring talks and presentations to local community groups and collect donations were required.

§  The set up and management of Community Fundraising Groups

§  Preparation of appropriate support materials



§  To update and maintain the contact database adhering to data protection guidelines throughout

§  To maintain an up to-date and accurate community support database and to utilise the CRM database for reporting purposes as required by the Fundraising Manager.

§  Track expenses, goals and donations by event and type

§  To manage and monitor the  use of promotional materials and merchandise and effectively manage orders and distribution eg Christmas and Sunflower Appeals



§  Prepare and update the community budget under the supervision of the Fundraising Manager.

§  Evaluate all community events and appeals in conjunction with the Fundraising Manager.


§  To support and attend community fundraising events (where appropriate) ensuring all queries before, during and after events are dealt with in a timely and proper manner

§  To maintain donor and potential donor records

§  Set up and maintain electronic and hard copy files as appropriate

§  To produce reports, spreadsheets, correspondence and presentations in-line with branding guidelines



·         To support and help promote supporter (third party) events as appropriate and agreed by the Fundraising Manager


Income generation

§  To assist in the conversion of enquirers to participants by following up queries within agreed timelines to help achieve targets

§  To be responsible for the distribution of collecting tubs, organising appeals and street collections.



Promoting Florence Nightingale Hospice wherever and whenever possible in a professional manner.



Working within the legal framework and ensuring compliance with the Institute of Fundraising and Charities Commission. 


Other Duties


Any other duties that may reasonably be required.
