Internal Recruiter - School and Children's Home

MacIntyre Care

Are you an experienced recruiter? Do you have know how to engage a team of workers? Then why not come and work with staff who are transforming the lives of young people with learning disabilities?

You'll be part of the management team at our school and children's homes in the pretty village of Wingrave, near Aylesbury. As Workforce Champion, you'll provide support and oversight of our recruitment, on-boarding, and induction of all new staff.

You'll ensure all staff experience MacIntyre’s values and ethos from their first point of contact, and that they are supported, valued and inducted into the school in a way that reflects this. Your job doesn't stop when new staff members join. You'll engage with the workforce, ensuring their early great expectations of their new jobs are met and exceeded, working to promote the wellbeing and welfare of all staff.

You'll have support from our onsite Recruitment Administrator, and will also work closely with our central Recruitment and HR teams. The role is 35 hours a week, 52 weeks a year.

About us

MacIntyre is a award-winning national charity supporting people with learning disabilities. Our core belief is that everyone has potential, something to offer and a valuable contribution to make to their community.  At our residential school, we provide excellent education and care for children and young people aged between 10 and 19, who have severe learning difficulties, autism, and other needs.

What we need from you

You'll be an effective recruiter, able to build relationships within local communities to develop an effective talent pipeline. You'll also have generalist HR employee relations experience. You'll need to combine creative thinking with practical skills in management reporting and ICT. You'll take a collaborative approach, and work well under pressure.

If you have experience in education and/or social care, you would have less of a learning curve, but this isn't essential.

You will need a driving licence and your own transport, partly because the school is in a rural location, partly because you will need to travel to other locations for meetings and training.
