Tutor / Assessor - Part time (30hrs)

Based in Wingrave



We are recruiting for a part-time Tutor/Assessor, working up to 30 hours a week, delivering qualifications in-house. You will work primarily at our children's home in St. Albans and our school and children's home at Wingrave, near Aylesbury.

You will join an established and welcoming internal learning and development team, who support MacIntyre staff to achieve a range of vocational qualifications relevant to their roles.


Working closely with our staff, you will coach, train and mentor them to lead and deliver best practice. You will assess their competence against the standards for the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Child Care, using a blended learning approach, including one to one tutoring, work place observation, and group working.


You will complete, maintain and store relevant documentation and records, in accordance with our own requirements and those of the relevant awarding organisation.

MacIntyre is an award-winning national charity supporting over 1500 children, young people and adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. The training we invest in for our staff is a key component in our ability to provide the right support for each person. 


What we need from you


You must have a relevant assessor qualification A1, TAQA or equivalent, together with substantial experience in the successful delivery of the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Child Care.


You will need excellent communication and organisational skills.


You must be a driver with your own transport insured for business use, in order to travel between your two main bases. You will also need to travel to the MacIntyre Central office in Milton Keynes and other MacIntyre services occasionally.
