Waking Nights Support Worker - Children's Home

CYPYF387130

MacIntyre Care

Are you looking for night shift work? Would you like a rewarding job making life more comfortable for young people who have learning disabilities? You'll be a Support Worker at our children's home in the village of Wingrave, working with children and young people aged 11 to 19 who have autism and/or severe learning disabilities. You may have been a care worker or healthcare assistant before, but if not don’t worry, you don’t need experience – so long as you have the right approach, we can teach you the rest.

Working in one of our residential houses, you will be available during the night to provide physical support and emotional reassurance when the young people are wakeful, and checking at regular intervals to ensure they are comfortable and settled. You will also be required to undertake general chores during the night.

You'll work a 38 hour week over four nights, on shifts that run from 9.45 pm until 7.15 am.

You’ll be supporting young people who have complex needs and may show challenging behaviour. Our specialist teams will support you to learn ways of helping them manage this behaviour. You must be willing to provide personal care where needed.

Please bear in mind that our children's home is in a rural location, so you will probably need your own transport.
