Breakfast and afterschool club

Work within a team of staff, supervise breakfast, support children and their activities, walk children to school. Return to school at 3pm to collect children, supervise snacks and support activities. some general cleaning of kitchen and bathroom area daily.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Directly to Mrs L Meads & Mrs J Brooks.

 

RESPONSIBLE FOR: The general welfare of all the children during the

                                      Breakfast & Afterschool club hours.

 

RATE OF PAY:  (To be discussed) per hour - monthly in arrears

 

HOURS OF WORK:

                               (Please note that holidays should coincide with

                                 the holiday of Stone School whenever possible.

                                 However, leave will be granted if adequate cover

                                 can be arranged).

 

DUTIES:

  1. To help ensure a safe environment in the Breakfast & Afterschool club by ensuring equipment is safe to use and by maintaining good hygiene standards.

  2. Health & Safety risk assessment to be completed daily.

  3. To provide high quality care for the children attending both Breakfast & afterschool Club by supporting with planning, preparation and implementation of activities and use of equipment to help stimulate and support children’s social, emotional, communication, language, physical, & creative developments.

  4. It is important to listen, encourage and ensure the safe keeping of all children.

  5. Help prepare and change any areas of the room before the children arrive and tidy up after they leave.

  6. At all times be friendly and welcoming to children, parents and carers.

  7. Attend staff meeting/planning this will involve regular attendance to these meetings and will be called by MRS L Meads or MRS J Brooks, giving at least a months’ notice.

  8. Encourage parental involvement and be available to give time to parent’s concerns/queries.

  9. Take part in special events, outings, visits etc. (Sometimes outside normal working hours, or not on your session but prior arrangements would be made), payment will be honoured.

  10. Adhere to, contribute and help implement the Breakfast & afterschool club policies.

  11. Attend all In-House Training and courses as directed and discussed with MRS L Meads & MRS J Brooks. Notice will be given in advance.

  12. Advise the Leader of any matter requiring attention such as concerns about a child or equipment needing repair or replacement.

  13. Keep completely confidential, any information regarding the children, their families and other staff. Where there are concerns by a staff member of the welfare of a particular child this information will be shared in the first instance only between yourself and the leader.

  14. Be aware of the location and the contents of the first aid box.

  15. Assist in Fire Drills in a responsible manner to restrict distress to children

  16. Help to ensure a Team atmosphere amongst the staff.

  17. Complete any accident/incident forms.

  18.  Complete the register, snack forms and anything else that’s required.

  19.  Be prepared to implement new working practices as and when required by Governing Bodies such as Ofsted and DFE.

  20. To undertake other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time as negotiated with the leader or MRS L Meads or MRS J Brooks, with prior notice.
