Aylesbury: Money Box Fooled Security Van Cash Thief

CCTV Robbery

2:02pm 10th October 2013

Thames Valley Police has released CCTV images in relation to a robbery in Aylesbury at the weekend.

The incident happened outside Tesco Express in Jackson Road at about 6.10am on Saturday (5/10).

While the ATM at the store was being replenished, the offender approached the driver of the security van.

The offender, who had a knife, then stole a cash box from the driver.

The man then escaped into Quarrendon residential estate.

The cash box was later found with no money taken.

The driver of the security van did not suffer any injuries during the incident.

DC Nicholas Hills of Force CID said:

“Thames Valley Police would like to speak to the man in the hooded top pictured in the CCTV images, as he might be able to help officers with their enquiries.

I would appeal to anyone with any information to contact the police immediately via 101, or if you want to remain anonymous please contact Crimestoppers.

I would like to reassure the community in Aylesbury that robberies such as these are extremely rare, and that Thames Valley Police is doing everything to catch the perpetrator.”

If you have any information, or recognise the man in hooded top pictured in the CCTV images please contact DC Hills via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
