UPDATE:

Although we've had no official confirmation of this, many people on our Facebook page, including pupils at the school have said that the boy involved is safe and well and that the incident was play-fighting gone wrong.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A boy has been airlifted to hospital from Aylesbury, with possible life changing injuries to his neck.

The air ambulance was called to The Mandeville School just after lunch (picture from a pupil).

A boy in his mid-teens was treated at the scene and then flown to the John Radcliffe Hospital.

That's all South Central Ambulance Services have been able to tell us at the moment. We're waiting on more details from the police.

A family from the school have told us the boy is in year 8 and that it was a 'random attack', although we haven't had that confirmed.

A pupil told us that the boys are in the same year and had an argument after the victim sprayed water at the other. He also said that students were ushered back into the school a different way and that blinds were shut while paramedics looked after him.

Other reports, from pupils via our Facebook page, say it wasn't random, but a play fight gone wrong.

Again, neither of these accounts have been confirmed by police or the school.
