Two Security Guards Assaulted In High Wycombe

Both were taken to hospital, one of them with a knife injury, after the incident in Tesco on Saturday afternoon.

Two Security Guards Assaulted In High Wycombe

Thames Valley Police has arrested a man following an incident in which two men were assaulted in High Wycombe.

Shortly after 1.30pm today (29/8) a man was detained by security staff on suspicion of shoplifting at a Tesco supermarket in the Eden Centre shopping complex.

A second man joined him at the store and they attempted to leave.

Two security guards approached the men and both were assaulted by one of the men.

One victim sustained minor head injuries caused by a knife. His injuries are not life-threatening and he is currently attending hospital.

The second victim sustained minor injuries and was initially treated at the scene and is attending hospital as a precaution.

Officers are currently on the scene making enquiries in relation to the incident. A knife has been recovered.

Investigating officer Insp Simone Marples, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “The shop was very busy at the time of the incident and I would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or anyone with any information which could assist with our enquiries.

“Officers are investigating the circumstances and are present in the area. If anyone has any concerns please contact your local neighbourhood team by calling 101.”
