Man Arrested After Shooting In Aylesbury

Thames Valley Police is investigating a firearms incident in Aylesbury.

Police were called at around 6.35am on Sunday morning to reports of a man having been shot in the leg in a house in Banks Yard.

The victim, a man aged in his thirties, was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

A man has been arrested in connection with this incident and is currently in police custody.

Investigating officer, Det Insp Brendan Murray from Aylesbury police station, said: “At this stage we believe that this incident involved people who are known to each other.

“It took place within a house, and appears to have been a targeted attack. We do not believe that there is any risk to the general public at this time.

“Officers are in the area this morning making enquiries and I would urge anyone who saw or heard this incident to speak to them or call 101 with information.

“There is a scene watch in place and if anyone has any concerns, please feel free to speak to your neighbourhood officers for advice.”
