Aylesbury Chef's Christmas Leftover Tips

Christmas Food - Leftovers

Published by the Mix96 News Team at 8:00am 26th December 2015.

With all that food leftover from yesterday, an Aylesbury chef's been sharing her top tips for using them up.

We've been talking to Aylesbury chef, Nita Mistry, about healthy ways to use up everything.

She told us one of her tips is to have a leftover party this week:

"Bring everyone together, bring all your leftovers and see what you can come up with.

"You can made sliders. Fill some soft rolls with leftover meats and veg, or poppadom scoops. Place all your leftovers on there. They taste quite nice with a dollop of sauce."

Nita teaches healthy Indian cooking in schools and she says one of the best things to do with the meat and veg in the fridge is to get the kids involved:

"Get them to cut things, shred things if they don't have the dexterity to hold a knife.

"Get them to pull things apart, pick, pluck. Get them involved, tasting, cutting different things."
