More government cuts mean Bucks County Council need to save another million pounds on libraries in the county.

They're meeting today to discuss how to avoid closures and make the service better for people whilst making the saving.

There are a few options such as keeping it as it is and seeing where savings can be made, making libraries independent from the council and setting them up as a charity or trust or outsourcing libraries to another private owner.

David Jones from BCC is in charge of the Library Service he told us nothing is being decided now.

He said:

"The next step is to work up the business case and as part of that there'll be extensive public consultations.

"So no decision made yet but an options appraisal that at the moment is identifying 'spin-out' or setting up a trust or a charity as being the best way of ensuring we keep the best possible library service going forward."
