People 'Shocked' By Height Of Wendover HS2 Barrier

Wendover HS2 are making their case for a tunnel by showing the affect a sound barrier would have on the village.

Over the weekend they placed a 20ft crane in Manor Waste - the height of the proposed sound barriers.

They've also published an artist impression of what it could look like.

Ron Peterson's the Chair of Wendover HS2 and told us people are shocked and ready to fight the plans, he said:

"The event worked exactly as we hoped, every single passer-by stopped to ask what it was and we had to explain it and tell them what they could do to try to mitigate it.

"Perhaps 150 residents have signed a joint petition that we built over the weekend.

"There'll be a number of petitions going in on an individual basis as well as one from Wendover HS2 as well as one from the community as a whole."

Petitions against HS2 must be sent to the House of Lords by Monday you can see how to add your signature here.
