Man In Hospital After Being Stabbed In Chesham

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information after a man was found stabbed in Chesham.

The victim, a 19-year-old man, was found by a police officer with a stab wound to his abdomen in Red Lion Street at about 1.30am on Saturday morning.

The victim is currently in hospital in a stable condition.

A 22-year-old man from Chesham has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He is currently in custody.

Investigating officer, Det Sgt Tracey Benham of Force CID, said:

“We are trying to establish how the victim came to be stabbed and by whom but we need the help of the public.

“This is a serious offence and we know there will be people out there who have information about what happened. I am appealing directly to you to search your conscience and come forward to the police. The easiest way to do this is either by visiting your nearest police station or by calling us on 101.

“I would like to reassure local residents that we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to wider members of the public.

“If you do not want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”
