Berkhamsted beer festival back and bigger than ever!

12:00pm 21st April 2017

Berkhamsted's Beer Festival opens today and it's promising to be bigger and better than ever.

It's the third year it's run but has now moved to the Civic Centre so they can fit in more ales!

The festival runs today (21st) and tomorrow.

Also known as BerkoBeerFest, has been organised by Nigel Oseland and has secured 24 cask-conditioned ales from 16 breweries located in and around the Chilterns, plus six ciders.

Nigel said:

“The festival is a celebration of the Chilterns and, with so much great beer on offer locally, it keeps our beer miles to a minimum”

This is the third of the town’s beer festival, the previous two were held at Haresfoot Brewery.

Maggie Procopi, the festival’s events manager told us:

“Moving to the Civic Centre allows us to grow the festival; it is more central, has more space and provides a bigger stage for our bands and comedians”

As in previous years, the beer festival on Saturday 22nd April will also form a showcase for up and coming local bands.

The line-up is: Tinlin, Pete & Dunk, Midnight Trio, The Apricot Hounds, sweetcornbread and DodoBones. Entry is just £5 to cover the bands, programme and commemorative glass deposit.

There is  also  a Comedy Night on Friday 21st April.
