Man walks 500 miles for Bucks charity

A man's just completed a 500 mile walk from Northumberland to Aylesbury for charity.

Andrew Broome, who's from the town, was raising money for Age UK Bucks' Befriending Service.

He set off on 10th April and arrived in Aylesbury yesterday (05/06). He said:

"I had to do something that wasn't just fun, something that would be a challenge. A walk hurt every day, from the beginning to the end, but I'm still so glad I did it. I feel like I earned the funds that we raised more, because I suffered for it."

Andrew's raised over £2000 for the Bucks charity. He was wearing an Age UK Bucks t-shirt during the whole trip, and he said a lot of people showed him support for what he was doing.

"I met so many people along the way who saw my t-shirt and sign, and a lot of the time it led to them offering me food, water and shelter."

"I've been shown a lot of kindness by strangers along the way and it's quite humbling."
