Two men have been jailed after another man was threatened with a glass bottle and punched several times during a robbery in High Wycombe.

Luke Knight, (pictured right) aged 18, of West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe and Ashley Coxhead (pictured left), aged 19, also of West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe each pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday (18/8) to one count of robbery.

What happened?

  • In the early hours of 9 June, the victim, a 20-year-old man, was walking along London Road, High Wycombe when he was approached from behind by Knight and Coxhead.
  • They pushed him to the ground and one of them threatened the victim with a glass bottle unless he handed over his wallet and phone.
  • The victim was punched several times before both offenders left with his wallet.
  • The victim suffered cuts to his leg and soreness and marks on the back of his head.

Both Knight and Coxhead were sentenced at the same hearing to two years’ detention in a Young Offenders Institution. They were charged on 9 June 2017.

Designated investigator Rachael Rance said:

“This was a nasty unprovoked attack on a man walking home. Both offenders were aggressive and violent and this sentence shows the severity of the offence. We will not tolerate this type of behaviour in the Thames Valley and will deal with it robustly when reported to us.”
