Second cat tail found in Aylesbury

After a cat was found without a head or tail on Sunday morning in Aylesbury, the tail of another cat has been found on the same spot.

The body of 1-year-old Leo was found on Ellen Road, on Sunday morning (27/8). It was examined by vets, who confirmed that this was a deliberate act and the RSPCA have been informed.

Two days later a tail from another cat was found, which had been placed at the same location.

Police would like to hear from people in the area who have any information following recent reports of a cat being mutilated.

In a statement Thames Valley Police said:

If you saw anything suspicious in the area overnight on Saturday night into Sunday morning, or Monday night into Tuesday morning, please call PCSO Andy White, from Aylesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team, on the 24 hour Police Enquiry Centre number 101.

If you don’t want to speak to the police or give your details you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or report it online.

Please report anyone acting suspiciously in the area, especially if they are trying to call cats to them. Keep an eye on your own animals and, if possible, try to keep them in overnight.
