An ambulance that was crowd funded by Aylesbury Mosque to be sent to Syria has reached its destination.

Back in June mosque staff started an appeal for £5,000 so they could buy the emergency vehicle and send it to the war torn country to help people suffering there.

After smashing that target, they kitted it out with donated medical supplies and then it began its journey.

Secretary General at the Mosque Masood Ahmed said:

"On average an ambulance in Syria saves 43 lives over the course of two to three months. That's a staggering amount, and that's why we decided to go for the ambulance."

"I think it's a proud moment, not just for Aylesbury Mosque, but the Aylesbury town as a whole. In the grand scheme on things we might be a small mosque in a small town, but today an ambulance that was donated and delivered by the people of Aylesbury is making a real difference to the people of Syria."
