Karen Mitchell, Principal of Buckinghamshire College Group and some of her staff are doing a 1 million steps challenge to raise money for Aylesbury based charity Youth Concern.

The challenge means participants will each have to walk the equivalent of 500 miles between October and January.

CEO of the charity Fran Borg-Wheeler said:

“We was delighted to hear that Karen and her team from Bucks College Group had decided to do the 1 Million Steps Challenge for Youth Concern to enable us to support more “at risk” young people in Aylesbury Vale."

"Two of the challenge team, Assan and Taofeek have used Youth Concern’s music studio and have witnessed first hand the difference that the Youth Concern team makes to vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in the areas of homelessness and mental health."

"I am very grateful to them all for the commitment and energy they’re dedicating to this challenge. As a group they’re aiming to raise nearly 3K and have reached 1K of their target."

"We are hoping the event will become an annual affair so that more people can get involved next year.“
