13 drugs raids carried out in six months, says Aylesbury commander

In the last six months, around 13 drug warrants have been carried out in Aylesbury Vale:

The area's relatively new Superintendent, Tim Metcalfe, told us they have seized a lot of drugs, cash and cannabis plants in the raids.

There have been several convictions as a result.

Tim said:

"Now that has a clear knock-on effect in terms of reducing the incidents of burglaries, both in homes and sheds and garages, and thefts from motor vehicles."

Tim told us his priority is to stop these things before they become an even bigger problem.

He said they're working with other organisations in the Vale to keep on top of the crime, too.

He added:

"Of those drug warrants, most of the information that led to those being executed came from the local community, from neighbours concerned about what they were seeing."

But it is a constant battle for the force, who see new groups move in as soon as one is dealt with.
