Aylesbury police commander 'impressed' by team & community

Superintendent Tim Metcalfe

Published by the Mix96 News Team at 5:46am 12th January 2018.

Aylesbury's police commander says he's been struck by his team and the community spirit here.

Six months into the job, we caught up with Supt. Tim Metcalfe about how he's finding the move from policing in the city:

"There's a really, really strong sense of responsibility and service towards the people of Aylesbury Vale.

"It's a really cohesive team in terms of the different elements of my command working effectively together and a really strong ethos around community policing."

Tim told us that means they've been able to deal with issues quickly, before they get out of hand.

"Anti-social behaviour in particular creates an enormous amount of distress and frustration for people.

"It can be very wearing and undermining for a local sense of community, so it's really important for us and the earlier we hear about it, the quicker we can deal with it."
