Police officer hit by a car in Aylesbury

Thames Valley Police were called to Market Square in Aylesbury at 3.18pm today after reports that a car had hit a police officer.

The officer was on duty at the time and the car failed to stop.

The officer has been taken to hospital with head injuries and his next of kin have been informed.

The vehicle has been located nearby but there was no driver or passengers in the car.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, but police are appealing for any information if you saw the collision or have any dashcam footage.
