Shops in Buckingham donate profits to 26-year-old fighting brain tumour

Shops in Buckingham are giving a percentage of their profits away today.

They're taking part in Oli-day - to raise funds for Oli Hilsdon from the town.

Back in 2014, the then 22-year-old was given no more than a year and a half to live.

He had been diagnosed with a particularly aggressive brain tumour.

But after 15 months of successful treatment, Oli managed to return to normality - even raising £60,000 for Brain Tumour Research by running a marathon.

Now, tragically, the tumour is back - and his Mum Jayne is raising money for a vaccine not available on the NHS. She said:

"He's the most incredible young man ever. Never once has he complained or said why me, and he was only 22 when he was diagnosed, just starting in life, he had got his dream job.

"It's just so devastating yet he's totally positive that he will fight this."

To further the money raised, lots of shops in Buckingham are taking part in 'Oli-day' today.

They've all agreed to donate a percentage of their profits to the cause.

Oli's mum Jayne has managed to raise nearly £45,000 so far. She added:

"People have been incredible, there are no words really. Every single person is supporting us in some way, there's so many events going, they are sharing his page and donating.

"It's so very obvious just how loved he is."
