Community projects in Amersham could get a share of 9K

Old Amersham

Published by the Mix96 News Team at 1:14pm 11th April 2018. (Updated at 1:16pm 11th April 2018)

'Amersham Decides' is a Bucks County Council scheme where local projects in and around Amersham can bid for a share of £9,000 of Council funding.

Time is running out as you have less than a fortnight until the application deadline.

Any project could potentially be eligible so long as it's benefiting the local community and it addresses one of Buckinghamshire County Council's priorities, which are:

  • Safeguarding our vulnerable
  • Creating Opportunities and Building Self Reliance
  • Ensuring Buckinghamshire is Thriving and Attractive

Local projects have until the 20th April to apply. Four finalist will then be selected, before local people vote on how the money should be spread between the four projects.

Previous winners have included a group running mental health first aid courses, a pop up cinema and a memory box project at Amersham Museum.

Voices and Choices is an Amersham organisation that won funding through the last 'Amersham Decides'. Their team of volunteers provide a range of support services for people who need assistance in their own homes, whether that's helping with advice, support and how to find out practical information.
