Watermead suffering from 'six months of vandalism'

Published by the Mix96 News Team at 5:49am 20th April 2018.

Vandals have been targeting Watermead in Aylesbury for six months.

That's according to the Parish Council there, who say it's not just the crematorium which has been damaged.

Sue Severn, the Chair - told us community spaces and allotments have been affected:

"We've recently had a dog bin, which was installed two weeks ago, set fire to.

"The memorial garden fencing has been damaged on several occasions, the allotment sheds and greenhouses have been damaged and tools stolen.

"Several cars have also had a lot of cars vandalised."

She said Watermead is a tight-knit community and wants anyone who can help to come forward.

They have already had people with CCTV come forward and say they have seen people acting suspiciously.

Sue added:

"What has caused it, we don't know and the police are very short of resources.

"We have great admiration and support for them, but we wish they could send us a few more police officers to be patrolling the villages."
