Friday 13th is lucky for some...especially in Wendover

Friday 13th is all about good luck at Lindengate with some very special visitors.

The Wendover-based charity, which uses gardening to support people with disabilities and mental health needs, is receiving a very welcome visit from the RAF today (13/07).

The RAF Halton Community Link team are putting their manpower into creating a sensory trail in the Lindengate gardens, all part of the RAF 100 Centenary celebrations.

They're hoping the trail will be completed in the next few weeks.

Not the only visitors

Year 4's from Wendover C of E Junior School will also be paying a visit to Lindengate and will be taking part in activities all day.

Wendover C of E Junior School is one of the first schools in the country where all the pupils have completed dementia awareness training and the Year 4 group are all trained "dementia friends".

The children will be taking wind chimes that they have made down to the gardens, to be installed amongst the trees and flowers and used by the Memory Pathways group which meets regularly at Lindengate.

The Pathways programme provides activities for people with memory loss and dementia and their carers.

It takes place twice a month on Fridays, 11am to 2pm, and provides a range of gardening activities, craft, cooking and music to help stimulate the senses.
