A mass walking and cycling event to Waddesdon Manor today is celebrating the opening of The Greenway trail.

Last week the traffic-free route from Aylesbury Vale Parkway Station to Waddesdon Manor was officially opened by MP Jesse Norman, who's responsible for walking and cycling.

You are invited to walk or cycle the 4km from Aylesbury Vale Parkway to the grounds, where you will get free admission.

The Greenway trail follows the old Roman Akeman Street to the National Trust property.

It's the outcome of a £1 million partnership between Buckinghamshire County Council, Greenways and Cycle Routes Ltd, the Cycle Rail Working Group, the Rail Delivery Group and several local landowners, including the Waddesdon Estate and Rothschild Foundation.

The project has been funded by the Department for Transport as part of a scheme to connect rural communities to their nearest rail station.

You can pick up the stickers for free admission to the grounds from 11am-12pm today (23rd Sep) at Aylesbury Vale Parkway.
