Winslow chef in the running to be named Young National Chef of the Year

A chef from Winslow is competing to be named Young National Chef of the Year at an event in London today.

Aaron Middleton started his career by gaining an apprenticeship in catering at Aylesbury College, later training at Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons before becoming sous chef at Hide Above in Piccadilly.

And today he's cooking-off against 9 other finalists for the coveted title 'Young National Chef of the Year' at The Restaurant Show in London's Hotel Olympia.

It's one of the leading young cooking competitions in the country and is a marker for who might becoming the next big name in the industry.

Aaron will be up on a stage, in his own booth, cooking to impress the judges. He says he's proud to have got this far:

"Even to get to the final - to get to the semi final - to do something that's out of your 'everyday', to try and better yourself, it's really good ... it's a good thing to be doing.
