Generous donation funds revamp of Risborough charity

The Princes Centre, Princes Risborough

Thanks to a massive donation from a member of the public a Princes Risborough charity has had a major revamp.

The Princes Centre provides day-care for the vulnerable and elderly.

They now have a brand new kitchen thanks to a generous donation.

The charity used the money for a new floor, fitments and a large dishwasher.

Manager Kim Challinor told us about her reaction when they received the donation:

"Completely overwhelmed.

"I came back and I was in tears.

"I sat the staff down and I said 'you will never guess what, someone has donated this'.

"It makes them feel like we are doing it right and we are making a difference."

She added that they don't have a HQ or other departments elsewhere in the country, so all the money goes straight back into the charity:

"Every penny that's raised for the Princes Centre comes into the centre.

"It's so lovely for our staff, our clients and our trustees to see that there are good people out there that believe in what we do and value the work that we do."

They are also currently fundraising to refurbish the lower hall area of the centre for users.

The King-Cullimore Charitable Trust provided a substantial grants towards it and brings the start of the project much closer.
