Woman sprayed with liquid during attempted robbery in Tring

A woman has been sprayed with a liquid substance during an attempted robbery in Tring.

Police are investigating after an offender tried to take the victim's handbag from her car on Monday evening (10/12).

During the incident the woman, who's in her fifties, was sprayed with liquid.

She was taken to hospital to receive treatment and has no lasting injuries. 

It happened on Miswell Lane between 5:30pm and 5:43pm. 

Anyone who saw what happened, or has information about the incident, should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 41/64624/18.

Second incident

In a separate incident at the same time on Monday (10/12) police were called to an assault and theft on Christchurch Road.

The offender attempted to leave Lifestyle Local without paying for grocery items.

The victim, a man in his thirties, attempted to stop him from leaving before a second offender pushed the victim to the ground and made off from the shop.

The first offender is described as a white man aged 18 to 19 years old with dark coloured hair. He was wearing a grey gilet, black jumper and black trousers.

The second offender is described as a white man, aged about 20 years old. He was wearing a black jacket with a bright blue hooded top underneath.

Officers were called at 5.28pm, when they got there they searched the area but the two offenders were not traced.

Police are investigating the incident and any witnesses or anyone with information should call the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 41/64629/18.
