Possible 50mph zone for A413 after safety worries

After eight deaths in five years on a main road just outside Aylesbury, there are plans to cut the speed limit.

The stretch of the A413 from Buckingham Park roundabout to Whitchurch could become 50 mph, instead of 60.

Between 01/05/2012 and 31/05/2017 there have been:

  • 47 reported injury collisions on this route.
  • 8 of these were fatal
  • 8 were serious
  • 31 slight injury

So Bucks County Council have come up with the plans to reduce the speed limit because of safety concerns.

They have recently carried out work along the route, painting sections in red to increase awareness of the road's width and bends.

There is a consultation on the plans at the moment, running until 20th February.

Objections to the proposal together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent in writing by 20th February to:
