Proposals to turn Aston Clinton pub into houses

Rothschild Arms, Aston Clinton

Published by Charlotte Fisher at 11:40am 11th January 2019.

Under new proposals a popular Aston Clinton pub could turn into houses.

A planning application has been submitted to turn the Rothschild Arms, on Weston Road, into two terrace houses and a bungalow.

They also want to build two semi-detached houses on the pub's parking opposite.

The paperwork only went in on Monday (Jan 7th) and there's already been over 100 objections.

One comment said:

"This is a well run pub which brings the community together.

"There are plenty of houses, we need to keep places like this open for the community - new and old - to have somewhere to meet."

Another objection stated:

"This application does not comply with the neighbourhood plan and would result in the loss of a valuable amenity for the village.

"The pub is more popular than ever, showing there is a need for the business in the village."
