Lily Wetherall with no brain

The Aylesbury Vale community has created a Christmas miracle for a young Waddesdon girl who doesn't have a brain.

Lily Wetherall was born with a brain stem, but her cavity is filled with fluid.

She was only given months to live but has defied the odds and is now 5-years-old.

But, in December Lily needed our help.

To stop her from chocking she needed a specialist bed, which the NHS couldn't provide.

Lily's parents Sienna and Anthony then turned to Newlife, a charity for disabled children, who urgently delivered a bed through its emergency equipment loan service, alleviating the immediate risk to Lily's safety.

Newlife set up a fundraiser for Lily to try and raise just under £5,500 for a permanent bed.

Today (11th Jan) we are thrilled to announce that in just three weeks the Aylesbury Vale community has done it again - you've raised all the money needed for Lily and her specialist bed is now on the way to her.

Her mum, Sienna, couldn't be happier:

"Thank you, thank you.

"When they told us it was just shocking.

"It was the speed, I expected it to be something that would take us possibly months to get it all in, but wow, thank you everyone.

"You've made the start of our New Year just amazing, one less thing to worry about.

"It will make all the difference knowing she's as comfortable and as safe as she can be."
