Police officer dies in A41 crash

After a crash closed the A41 for several hours last night, we now know a police officer was killed.

Chesham neighbourhood officer PC Kevin Flint was on his way home on his motorbike when the crash happened near Berkhamsted.

Chief Superintendent Steve Williams said:

“PC Flint, a neighbourhood officer based at Chesham, died whilst off-duty, travelling home from work yesterday evening (15/1).

“PC Flint’s personal motorcycle was involved in a collision with a stationary vehicle on the northbound A41 near Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire, just after 4pm."

The collision is being investigated by the Joint Protective Services of the Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Constabularies and Bedfordshire Police.

Chief Superintendent Williams continued:

“PC Flint’s next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them, as well as his friends and colleagues at this extremely difficult time.

“All those affected are being supported by Thames Valley Police.

“We would kindly request that the privacy of PC Flint’s family is respected.”
